This is the east chimney at Hilton Hall.
We were going to re-point and chop bricks in to repair but upon
inspection found the chimney to be in a very degraded state and
structurally unsafe so had to completely re build from the ridge
up.
You can see the parapet walls have been substantially refurbished to due
to soft reds deteriorating.
As we took the parapets down we discovered the reminisce of a Dutch
gables, after lasing with the conservation officer we re-instated.
All of the cast iron guttering was either refurbished or renewed like
for like. |
